World Endurance Africa Holdings is proud to announce Spur Steak Ranches as the official title sponsor of IRONKIDS South Africa.
IRONKIDS South Africa has become one of the most sought after children’s events in South Africa having grown in popularity since its inception in 2007. This year the event was fully sold out just two weeks after entries opened.
IRONKIDS is all about encouraging children to have a healthy and active lifestyle. The focus is not on winning, but on participation. The event is not timed and every finisher is a winner as they receive a medal and finisher certificate. The key message of IRONKIDS therefore seamlessly aligns with Spur Steak Ranches’ brand strategy.
“One of the pillars of Spur Steak Ranch’s sponsorship strategy is to involve ourselves in events that promote a healthy, active and outdoor lifestyle for families. This, together with the fact that children and families are an integral part of the brand, made the Spur IRONKIDS event the ideal sponsorship opportunity. Development is also a key focus area for the Spur brand – and providing young children with the chance to experience these type of events works to get them excited about being active and urge them to participate in their chosen sport for years to come,” said Andrew Cronje, Spur Market Development Manager.
IRONKIDS South Africa has become a mainstay of the IRONMAN South Africa weekend, attracting children from around Nelson Mandela Bay as well as from across South Africa.
“We are delighted to announce Spur Steak Ranches as the official title sponsor for IRONKIDS South Africa. We have no doubt that this partnership will take the event to new heights and reinforce the message of encouraging children towards a healthy and active lifestyle. Spur Steak Ranches is a South African family institution and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the Spur family,” said Keith Bowler, World Endurance Africa Holdings Managing Director.
Spur IRONKIDS takes place on Saturday the 5th of April, beginning at McArthur’s Pool and Leisure Centre before finishing on the very same finish line where the IRONMAN athletes will finish the next day. Children in the 6 to 9 year age group will complete a 60m swim and a 1.2km run while the 10 to 13 year olds will have a 100m swim and a 2km run to complete. The event gives the IRONMAN stars of tomorrow a chance to be involved in all the excitement surrounding the IRONMAN South Africa 10th anniversary celebrations.
